Dr Katherine Hinchliffe, Deputy Director for Student Voice and Student Experience SBS , and Anne Pinkerton, Information, Advice and Guidance Officer SBS, have shared resources reflect ongoing work within the School of Biological Sciences to strengthen student voice and improve how student feedback is gathered, discussed and acted upon. The work has involved moving from a traditional Staff–Student Liaison Committee model to a more inclusive, student-centred approach based on Student Voice Meetings, student co-chairing, advance feedback trackers and clearer communication of outcomes.
The Reimagining Student Voice Meetings to Improve Student Experience presents the rationale for the redesigned approach, the challenges it sought to address and the positive impact observed following its introduction. The accompanying Summary document translates this model into a practical operational timeline, clarifying the responsibilities of staff, School Representatives, academic colleagues and Student Representatives at each stage of the process. Together, the resources demonstrate how partnership working, clear accountability and transparent feedback processes can support a more meaningful student voice and a better student experience.
